"Dear Kennedy and Jack,


I just wanted to say a very BIG thank you for letting us stay in your lovely flat over the weekend. As usual, we had such a great time…we had some fabulous walking from Salcombe.

On Saturday, we crossed the estuary on the ferry and walked to the Pig's Nose for lunch, taking in a swim on the way.

On Sunday we walked to Snapes Point and found a tremendous swimming spot that we subsequently found we could see, with binoculars, from the balcony of your apartment. It involved a climb down through brambles, via a lovely secret gate, and then a plunge off the rocks into the sea.

Our two evenings were spent in great comfort and warmth chatting in your lovely sitting room.

On Sunday morning we basked in the hot sun that bathed the apartment in warmth and light.

Thank you so much, it was greatly appreciated.

Our holiday home is a spacious, comfortably furnished and well equipped apartment on two floors.

Situated at the lower end of Devon Road, it is two minutes walk from Salcombe town centre and harbour.

There are outstanding views of Salcombe estuary and East Portlemouth countryside and its main beach, yet the flat is in a sheltered position.

The kitchen and upstairs shower room have been refurbished to a high standard, the lighting is modern.

All rooms have recently been redecorated and refurbished to a very high standard, the ground floor now features a fully tiled wet room!

salcombe self catering apartment    Our private door entrance leads down stairs to glass-panelled double doors into the Sitting/Dining Room: 21ft x 17ft approx. - with sliding doors to large balcony with modern decking - overlooking the harbour.


The balcony has now been enlarged to approximately 40ft long varying in width from 8ft to 16ft.


It has comfortable lounge furniture, dining table and chairs, TV, DVD, radio-cassette, CD player, games, cards, etc

Kitchen:

Large and fully equipped - modern units with solid beech worktop, double-oven gas cooker, refrigerator and fridge-freezer, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, etc.

Bedroom One :
Estuary views, patio doors leading to balcony, King size bed with duvet, new oak furniture and very large wardrobe, hair dryer, new flat screen TV, etc.

Also on the main floor:

Bedroom Four: One new 3' single bed, bedside table and hanging space.

    The master bedroom has patio doors onto the balcony with magnificent views of Salcombe

"We had a really lovely week last week; it made us realise how much we missed Salcombe last year. The new glass terrace is fantastic (I overheard the neighbours complimenting it) and the children were particularly taken with the leather revolving chair - we had to introduce a rationing system of 15 minutes each! I hope we can avail ourselves of Charborough House again next year.

"I never wrote to thank you for allowing us to stay in Salcombe over August Bank Holiday so this is a very belated thank you. We had a wonderful weekend. The first day was glorious sunshine and we pottered around Salcombe. On the Sunday it poured with rain but this didn't matter, our grandparents used to live in Thurlestone so we took the opportunity to go back.

Double Bedroom   

Bedrooms Two & Three: From the landing on the lower floor are two further bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed and the other has three 3' single beds, all with duvets and pillows.

Fully-tiled wet room, toilet and basin, heated towel rail.

 

The apartment has full gas central heating/hot water included. Patio furniture.

Coffee, tea and sugar provided for your arrival. Feel free to use food and cleaning items available, but will you please replace if necessary? Nearby parking available all year.

Hand and tea towels are provided but not normally bed linen or large towels although these can be provided at extra cost if if required.  There is a laundrette nearby where arrangements can be made for someone to come and make up beds and wash the sheets.

 

"We had a lovely week in your flat in Salcombe. The view of the estuary is stunning and changes all the time in the differing light - I took lots of pictures! It must be one of the best views in Salcombe. The flat was comfortable and very well equipped and thank you for arranging the bed linen for us and leaving extra towels. It was much appreciated. We ate as many meals outside as we could and I managed to have breakfast on the terrace every morning except one!"
